Default 2012 Chevrolet Cruze gets twice as good nav system for half the price

General Motors has announced that the automaker is reducing the price of its optional navigation system in the Chevrolet Cruze by 50 per cent. Buyers who wait for the 2012 model will enjoy an upgraded system for the lowly price of $995 US, or around $800 US more than an excellent on-dash aftermarket nav (no word yet on official Canadian pricing). The new kit comes with a touch-screen interface and better resolution than the old screen, though users will still be able to make use of physical ***** on the dash to make their selections if they so desire.

According to USA Today, much of the savings comes from the fact that engineers scrapped the 10-gig hard-drive based nav for an SD-based memory system. As a side effect, drivers will no longer be able to pause or record live radio. Seems like a sacrifice that's well worth the cash to us. Expect to see the new nav available on 2LT, LTZ and Eco models when the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze arrives on dealer lots later this month.

nt to be able to read the speedo when travelling fast or when wearing sunglasses. A dangerous design looks good night time but useless during the day.Early Dodge Calibers have great dash layout Speedo centrally placed with Black markings on White background easy to read,. The Euro Cruze has a bone shaking suspension on rough UK roads , However handling is very good. Perhaps cars with Z linlk Watts suspension are better ? I miss the TPM . compass, chilled locker & powered foldback mirrors foun

Now this has put me on cloud nine. I am going to get the navigation system right away for my little baby. She is just hungry to get this accessory. And then I am going to places where no one has been.

Now this is something that I have been waiting to hear. I was actually having a bad time searching for low priced navigation system. Maybe I will get this now. It is much lower than you have quoted here. I am going to enjoy this.
