Irene update: 3.3 million still without power; death toll at 38
Emergency officials report at least 38 people in 11 states have died as a result of Hurricane Irene.
North Carolina - 6
Pennsylvania - 5
Virginia - 4
New York - 6
Vermont - 3
Connecticut - 2
New Jersey - 7
Maryland - 1
Florida - 1
Massachusetts - 1
Delaware - 2
Authorities are trying to determine whether an additional death reported in New York is connected to the storm.
